How do I make a page?

Pages turn downward, and there is always one blank leaf after the last one. Swipe down to it, tap Create, and give the page a name. A page exists as soon as it has a name, because the name is the only thing a cover needs to be drawn: the ground comes from the page's own colours, and everything else is placed on it afterwards.

How do I change the way the title looks?

In the settings menu, under Page Title: Rename changes what it says, Font changes the face it is set in, and Styles changes what is done to it after that. All three are stored on the page, so a cover you set last week does not change under you when the app gains a new face.

How do I put a photograph on a cover?

Background, in the design menu. Apple's photo picker opens, you pick one picture, and it becomes the page's ground. A photograph behind a title is a ground rather than a picture, so it is blurred by default. Remove photo puts the page back on its colours.

How do stickers work?

Add a sticker, in the design menu, opens the photo picker, and the subject is cut out of the picture you choose and stuck on the cover. Paste a sticker takes a subject you have already copied in Photos or Safari. Anything pasted without a cut-out edge gets its subject lifted the same way. The same menu holds Shapes and Free text, for marks and words that are not photographs.

It said my photo had no subject.

The cut-out is made on your phone by Apple's Vision framework, and it needs something it can recognise as a subject against a background. Photos and objects work well; screenshots, documents and flat textures usually do not. Try another picture.

How do I move and resize things on a cover?

Tap arrange. In Arranging you drag the title and the stickers where you want them, pinch to resize either, and use Send to back on a sticker that should sit under another. Tap Done to leave.

Do my pages sync, and what happens if I delete the app?

Your pages are stored on your phone and mirrored to your own private iCloud, so they arrive on any device signed in to the same Apple Account and they come back if you delete the app and install it again. If there is no iCloud account, or iCloud is off, Perzine keeps writing to the phone with the mirroring off: the pages stop travelling, they do not stop existing.

Is there an account to make?

No. The Apple Account already on your phone is the account. There is no sign-up, no password and nothing to log in to.

What does it cost?

Nothing. The app is free, and there are no purchases or subscriptions in it.

Can anyone else see my pages?

No. They live on your phone and in your own private iCloud database, which is not a server Smidgecraft operates. Nobody but you can read them, including us. The privacy policy says exactly what does and does not leave the phone.
